Die Dorfrepublik Rüterberg
visual report
Visual research, article and graphic report about Rüterberg - a tiny village on the banks of the Elbe River that found itself in a unique position during the german division. Caught between border fences and the Elbe, Rüterberg was effectively cut off not only from West Germany but also from the DDR itself. As an act of protest Rüterberg declared itself an autonomous republic.
